Well we are coming into the last weekend of September and 6 teams on bye this week (Colts, Lions, Dolphins, Patriots, Giants, Seahawks), so that means only 13 games to pick from. Last week I went 8-2, picking the Cowboys, Eagles, Ravens, Broncos, Jaguars, Giants, Vikings and the Chargers and, missing on the Patriots (like the majority of America) and the Cardinals. My overall record is 20-10, and trending upward, which is what I like to see. I almost nailed the Broncos/Saints score of 34-32, but I had the Saints at 28. So I am feeling pretty good about last week obviously.
I would like to go on a little rant about bye weeks, because I really don’t like them. I feel robbed that there are 3 less games this weekend, and from weeks 4 to 10, someone will have a bye. And I know that the players need a week off, but after 3 games into the season? The difference between playing 3 games then a week off and playing 9 games is huge. Plus that gives us 7 weeks where there aren’t as many games. Why not have the bye weeks from week 7 to 10? You could make the byes over 4 weeks and give 8 teams a bye per week. You could rest entire divisions for those weeks, and it would cost the NFL 1 game more then they are playing this week. Is that such a scheduling nightmare that it couldn’t happen? Anyway, if someone has a good counter point, I would love to hear it.

Reasons for Home Field Advantage.
Here are my picks for week 4 of the NFL season for games on Sunday September 28th. All game times are EST. Remember to check the weather on the East Coast due to the storm that is off the coast.

No Home Comforts This Week.
- Redskins at Cowboys - 4:15 PM From $76 - Cowboys 30 - Reskins 24. I like the Cowboys at home I what could be a big Fantasy Day for both teams. I don’t think anyone goes nuts but it should be a fun game to watch since both of the franchises hate each other.
- Cardinals at Jets - 1 PM From $45 – Cardinals 27 – Jets 24. I think this is a toss up and although the Cards didn’t play well last week on the East Coast, I think they rebound here against a Jets team in disarray.
- 49ers at Saints - 1 PM From $38 – Saints 34 – Niners 31. The Saints need a win and a home game will help things get back on track. I think the 49ers will fall behind early and rally late to come up short for the win.
- Eagles at Bears - 8:15 PM From $134 – Eagles 20 – Bears 14. This game could be ugly! Especially if the Steelers/Eagles game showed us anything. I think the Bears are built similarly to the Steelers and being at home will help them. The Eagles are banged up as well, so if you are a Bears fan, be ready for an upset. I am still going with the more talented team here though.

Could He Upset the Saints?
- Ravens at Steelers - Monday 8:30 PM From $74 – Steelers 28 – Ravens 14. So a lot of people like the Ravens here, which I think is foolish. It is Monday Night in Pittsburgh, and the Steelers always are ready to play. Look for them to light up the passing game with Willie Parker out.
- Packers at Buccaneers - 1 PM From $30 – Bucs 24 – Packers 21. I think this will be a close one in Tampa Bay. Great deal on prices for tickets in one of the best stadiums in the NFL.
- Vikings at Titans - 1 PM From $21 – Titans 28 – Vikings 14. So the Vikings got a W last week and their reward is a great Titans defense this week. Sorry but I don’t think Gus Frerotte will shine on the road in Tennessee.
- Falcons at Panthers - 1 PM From $41 –Panthers 34 – Falcons 24. The Falcons could pull an upset here, since the Panthers played poorly up in Minnesota, but I don’t think their defense can contain Delhomme and company on the road.
- Texans at Jaguars - 1PM From $11 – Jaguars 28 – Texans 16. So the Jags got a huge win against the Colts on the road, I think the momentum gives them a solid month of W’s. The only good thing for Texan fans is the cheap ticket price for a nice weekend in Jacksonville.
- Bills at Rams - 4:05 PM From $7 – Bills 24 – Rams 10. Another great deal on ticket prices because the Rams are not good and now turning to Trent Green. The Bills have a nice, solid young defense and don’t let teams run on them. That is usually a recipe for success in the NFL.
